Quality Guide

At MiniJumbuk, we have developed ‘Quality Guides’ for our quilts and underlays, by creating colour code chart to help you make comparisons between ranges. Our new packaging reflects this, however there may still be some original packs in stores and please note that the product inside, is the same great quality MiniJumbuk product, just in different packaging.

•  QUALITY  – All MiniJumbuk quilts are made to the highest quality.  As you start with MiniJumbuk’s traditional range at Bronze and move up the chart to the latest products to the Platinum Series (purple), you’ll find the quality of casing increases, the design style varies, finer and softer threads are used to create softer, lighter and more luxurious quilts.
• WARMTH – Our Kids Quilts (green series), designed for children,  have mid-weight Wash&LOFT wool filings, designed for year round sleeping comfort.  The Summer Series (blue) quilts are half the standard winter weight, making them lighter and cooler to sleep under - ideal for summer and warm climates.  Bronze quilts are made with our standard wool filling, with winter weight of 500gsm. The Silver Gold and Platinum (purple) we use our unique Wash&LOFT wool, designed to provide more warmth for less weight. The fill weight , along with warmth, increases slightly with each series up to Platinum (purple) which makes the quilts warmer, while the higher quality casings and Wash&LOFT filling are lighter, which means we can provide extra warmth without the extra weight.  In fact, our Platinum quilts have the thickest and warmest filling yet are our lightest winter weight quilt, due to the super-fine cotton casing being 20% lighter than std casings
• WASHABILTY - Bronze quilts are Dry-Clean only. Our Kids Quilts (green) Summer Series (blue) Silver, Gold and Platinum (purple) quilts are all machine washable

• QUALITY  – All MiniJumbuk underlays are made to the highest quality and as you move up the chart from Bronze  to Platinum (purple) the amount of wool and comfort increases. The new underlay packaging explain the combined amount of wool fleece and wool filling per square metre.  These are roughly the same amount e.g. 1000gsm equals 500gsm wool filling and 500gsm wool fleecy plie . The Silver range has approx 750grams per square metre combined in the filling and fleece.  The Gold range has 1000 grams of combined wool per square metre and the Platinum range combines 500grams of wool with 1000grams of 25mm thick luxury memory foam per square meter for maximum comfort.

• COMFORT - We have used the latest body pressure mapping technology to measure improved comfort by reducing the body’s pressure points especially around the hips, shoulders and back.  We have compared an average person sleeping on standard quality innerspring mattress with no underlay and the same person sleeping on the same mattress with the range of MiniJumbuk underlays between them and the mattress.  The results show how the person’s body weight is more evenly dispersed and peak pressure points are dramatically reduced when sleeping on the MiniJumbuk underlays.  The improved comfort increases from 25% up to 40% depending on the design and thickness of the underlay.  This can be demonstrated showing the body pressure mapping images with the red areas highlighting peak pressure and the blue areas showing reduced pressure.  The longer a person can stay in the same position without feeling pain or discomfort, the more restful and deeper the sleep will be. Selecting the right underlay for you, is based on the extra comfort you are looking for in addition to your current mattress. If you have a luxury foam and latex mattress and want the additional benefits of a MiniJumbuk woollen underlay, consider the Bronze and Silver Series for natural warmth and comfort. If you have a firm mattress and need more cushioned comfort, the Gold and Platinum Series will provide comfort and support you’re looking for. To simplify, the more comfort you need, the thicker and softer your underlay should be.
