In an effort to raise much needed funds for drought-stricken Australian farmers, MiniJumbuk has proudly partnered with Camborn Station, David Jones and Rural Aid to create a limited edition, luxury wool quilt. It is anticipated that sales from the MiniJumbuk Farmer’s Heart Wool Quilt, available exclusively from David Jones stores, will raise $50,000 and provide much needed assistance to those rural Australians whose lives are so heavily impacted by Australia’s current drought.
Easily identified with its distinctive stitching design, incorporating the intrinsically rural windmill and sheep images, the Farmer’s Heart is a mid-weight quilt designed for all seasons. But it is MiniJumbuk’s partnership with the Wilkinson family from Camborn Station that creates a very special and unique dimension to this iconic Australian quilt. All wool used in the Farmer’s Heart quilt can be traced to a single source – the premium Poll Dorset wool recently shorn from the Camborn Station sheep and chosen for its exceptional resilience to provide lasting loft and warmth in a quilt.
Roger and his family, fourth generation farmers from Wentworth NSW, are personally experiencing the devastating effects of the drought. They are proud to support Rural Aid and other Australian communities with this project.
“It’s hard to comprehend the full affects until you witness the drought’s impact first-hand,” Roger says. “The drought has had such a significant impact on our livelihoods that we had to do something to help.”
For MiniJumbuk, manufacturers of Australia’s favourite wool bedding for over 40 years, the Farmers Heart quilt offered the perfect opportunity to both create something meaningful and provide some relief for farmers. MiniJumbuk Managing Director, Darren Turner, who travelled to Camborn Station for shearing, says “MiniJumbuk have spent four decades championing Australian-made products and, in particular, rural communities. The Farmer’s Heart Wool Quilt is our way of trying to give back to communities that have been affected.”
The Farmers Heart Wool quilt is a limited edition luxury wool quilt, with only 1000 quilts available exclusively from MiniJumbuk or David Jones. $50 from the sale of each quilt is being donated to raise $50,000 for Rural Aid. By purchasing your quilt you can do your bit to help Aussie Farmers get back on their feet.
