Naracoorte Comes Alive!

Naracoorte Comes Alive!

'Taste of the Limestone Coast' is a festival not to be missed. Every year on the second weekend of February, Naracoorte comes to life with this popular event. The family friendly affair spread over four days, showcases the best that South Australia's Limestone Coast has to offer.

The weekend kicks off Thursday evening with the Helloworld quiz night. The night offers the perfect opportunity to pit your skills against the locals in a light-hearted attempt to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon while fundraising for a good cause. Friday brings the increasingly popular Ambrose Golf Day generously sponsored by MiniJumbuk and DiGiorgio Family wines. This year saw a record number of entrants enjoy the immaculately presented course and the accompanying fine hospitality of the Naracoorte Golf Club.

Food, wine and music lovers appear in full force on Saturday. Local retailers start the day with a massive sidewalk sale providing a little retail therapy, helping festival goers work up an appetite for the afternoon's entertainment. The Naracoorte Town Square resounds with the non-stop music of local artists, and the delectable scents from the best of our regional food vans are too good to resist - spend the day relaxing, sampling the delights of local eateries and award winning Coonawarra wines.

Early birds will find the freshest of Limestone Coast produce for sale at the Sunday Farmers Market. Fill your shopping baskets and then don your finery ready for a day at the races. The Naracoorte Racing Club hosts a spectacular race meet. Always a fun day out, it was particularly exciting this year as locally owned and trained horse Bronski caused an upset, beating the favourite to take home the MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup.

The Naracoorte Taste festival provides a fabulous insight to the highlights of South Australia's Limestone Coast. Make sure you don't miss out next year - pop it on your calendar today - come meet the friendly locals and experience all that the region has to offer.
