Stick to the same bedtime on weekends
Weekends are made for staying up late and having fun. Ideally, keep to your weekday routine, but who doesn’t love a party? If you limit your nocturnal merrymaking to only an hour or two after your regular bedtime, or to only one night of the weekend, you will reap the rewards for the rest of the week.
Don’t sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays
Every morning this week you have been up early and ready for work. Last night you were out late. You deserve that sleep in! As delicious as it sounds, try not to snooze all day as you will be wide awake at bedtime. Get up nearer your regular time and grab some exercise. You will feel great and the workout will help you to nod off later.

Set the Stage for Sleep
Your body’s natural sleep rhythms respond to darkness, so avoid bright lights, phone and computer screens. Stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine and alcohol contribute to poor sleep and are best limited in the lead up to bed. Beat last minute stress ensuring you are prepared for the upcoming week, and then relax with your favourite book and a warm drink before drifting gently off to the Land of Nod.
