Since the 19th century, agricultural country shows have provided local people with an opportunity to celebrate achievements and enjoy a break from day-to-day routine. With a combination of serious competition and light entertainment, annual shows acknowledged and rewarded the hard work and skill of primary producers and provided a venue for rural families to socialise. The South East Field days combine the agricultural show as well as exhibiting machinery, equipment and skills required for broad-acre farming.
This year is the 38th South East Field Days, held at Yakka Park in Lucindale on 18th and 19th March. As usual there will be three General Interest Pavilions jam packed full of exhibitors, including MiniJumbuk (Stall 61, Lions Pavilion) and other exhibitors with a vast array of goods from family clothing and lingerie, to shoes and craft, jewellery, food and wine, government agencies and education exhibitors.
The South East Field Days have loads of attractions for all the family, whilst Mum will enjoy shopping in the Pavilions and Dad will be enthralled by all the farm equipment and machinery, there is also plenty for the kids to be enjoying too. The many events include snake awareness demonstrations, Old MacDonalds Animal Nursery and the Sciworld Spectacular Science Show.
There is also a sumptuous array of food options available to suit all tastes, including pizza, hot dogs, steak sandwiches, donuts, Chinese, fish and chips, squid and coffee available all over the Yakka Park site.
So if you are looking for fun for all the family, why not head to Yakka Park, Lucindale for a great day out this Saturday.
