The Faces Of MiniJumbuk: Deb Foster

The Faces Of MiniJumbuk: Deb Foster

Deb Foster | Quilting Machine Operator

What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Working with a great team to produce our wonderful products that are sold not only in Australia but overseas as well. It is great achievement that our products are made here in the small town of Naracoorte, South Australia.

You grew up in the region on a sheep farm, why do you think wool is better then polyester and feather and down?
Just think, sheep live through a wide range of conditions - heat, wind, cold, rain and even snow. Not only is wool strong and durable it is also a unique natural fibre that is flame resistant and has the ability to keep you warm when you're cold and cool when your hot. Why wouldn't you want to wrap yourself up in a woollen quilt?

What MiniJumbuk product could you not live without and why?
My new Thermal Wool Quilt. During the winter I travelled through the Hay Plains in NSW, where temperatures drop as low as 3 degrees overnight. My Thermal Wool Quilt kept me warm and toasty for the whole trip.

Do you have a useful tip for a MiniJumbuk product?
It's really quite hard to come up with a tip as the products are so easy to care for. The best thing I can suggest is to simply air your product on the clothesline every few months, wool just loves fresh air and sunshine!
