MiniJumbuk Mattress Protector Care Guide

MiniJumbuk Mattress Protector Care Guide

MiniJumbuk’s Wool Mattress Protector is one of those bedding essentials that does a lot behind the scenes – keeping your mattress clean, help regulates your body temperature, manages moisture and adds a little extra comfort to your bed. But, it still needs a little care and attention so it can continue to work it’s magic. To get the most out of yours, here are a few simple care tips to keep it feeling fresh and working at its best.

We always recommend airing your bedding products before first use. This helps to naturally refresh and revitalise the wool fibres after being stored in packaging.

Simple Airing Does Wonders
No need for regular washing here, wool loves fresh air! The easiest way to keep your protector in top shape is to air it outside on breezy day (if possible) regularly. Fresh air and sunshine will freshen the wool fibres, and help release any trapped moisture, while preventing odours.

Washing (if it really needs it)
While we don’t recommend regular washing, our mattress protectors are machine washable. Before washing or dry cleaning always check the care label first. Wool does not like being over agitated and avoid getting it too hot.

Machine Washing:
Wool is great at absorbing moisture, it can absorb up to 35% of its weight, keep this in mind when using your home washing machine. Most domestic washing machine’s wool product capacity is smaller than the standard load, so it’s worth checking before washing your mattress protector at home. For larger sizes we recommend using a commercial machine that will comfortably fit without agitation.
• Use a front loader
• 40°C warm water
• Use an approved wool detergent (like MiniJumbuk’s Wool Wash)

Spot Cleaning
Spot cleaning is a great alterative option to washing your whole mattress protector. For small spills or stains a simple spot clean will do the job. We recommend Woolmark’s spot cleaning mix.
Mix 1 tsp wool detergent + 1 tsp white vinegar + 1L warm water.
Dab gently, don’t rub.

Taking care of your wool Mattress Protector doesn’t need to be complicated. With regular airing and the occasional gentle clean, your protector will keep doing it’s job for years of restful sleep.
